Big Numbers For WWE RAW And Not Just Ratings!

WWE sent us the following:

WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW – still the most-watched, regularly scheduled, year-round program on cable, airing live every Monday night, 52 weeks a year – debuted a third weekly hour (now airing from 8-11pm) during their 1000th episode celebration last evening with over 6 million total viewers tuning in and the highest P25-54 delivery ever.

USA was the #1 television network in Primetime – broadcast or cable – in P18-34 and topped all but Fox in P18-49, P25-54, total viewers. USA also bested #2 cable network VH1 by +50% in P18-49, +73% in P25-54 and #2 TNT for total viewers by +39%.

3-hour Average (8-11pm):
Most watched 3-hour WWE Raw ever with over 6 million viewers (6.04M) – the first to crack the 6 million mark.

Top 3 hour WWE Raw ever in P25-54 with 2.7 million viewers (2.73M)

2- Hour (9-11pm) “Regular Episode:”
Most Watched WWE Raw since the show returned to USA in 2005 and the best in 10 years with 6.3 million total viewers (6.31M)

Top 18-49 episode on USA in 4.5 years (since 12/07) at 3.1 million viewers (3.06M)

Top 25-54 episode on our air in more than a year (since 3/28/11) at 2.9 million viewers (2.86M)

Reflective of the on-air numbers, social activity also exploded over the digital channels:

According to Trendrr, WWE Raw was the No. 1 program on Cable and Broadcast.

Social activity buzz for WWE Raw bested all broadcast programs combined for the day.

WWE accumulated 52 worldwide trends during yesterday’s three-hour telecast of WWE Raw including #Raw1000, #wwe, #raw, #dx and #undertaker.

At its peak, WWE Raw received over 9,000 tweets-per-minute, the top tweeted segment in the show’s history, with the appearance of The Undertaker claiming the title of the biggest single social media moment of the show when activity spiked to more than 11,000 comments per minute.

Cena Promises Huge Announcement On Raw!

John Cena, who won the Raw Money in the Bank ladder match last night, sent out a “Tout” via his Facebook and Twitter accounts. The video promised a “huge announcement” concerning the briefcase for tonight’s Raw.

Tout is a video social network that the WWE has invested in.

Another Star To Join The Rock On 1000th RAW!

The Rock won’t be the only former Superstar appearing on the 1000th RAW July 23rd. On July 9th Mick Foley took to Twitter and tweeted:

“See you all in 2 weeks on #RAW”

It looks like WWE will be pulling out all the stops as they celebrate and shift the program to 3 hours. Word is that they have also invited some legends and Hall of Famers to the show as well.

Notes on Sid’s RAW Appearance!

Honoring the 1,000th episode of Raw that takes place on July 23, Sycho Sid competed in his first match on the show in over fifteen years. He defeated Heath Slater via powerbomb. Speaking to WWE.com, Sid explained how good of a feeling it was to return to Raw.

“Maybe two or three people could really know what this means to me. This is, and I’m not exaggerating, this is the greatest moment in my whole life right now,” he says. “I’ll let you know what I’ve been through, how long it’s taken to get back to where I’m at now. This is like going from playing a sandlot game to being in Major League Baseball. I have never been more happy in my whole life.”

What To Expect On A 3-Hour RAW!

The current plan for three hour Raws is from 8-8:50 p.m. to start pushing a main event match on television, with the idea that they’ll get people talking about it on social media, and start that match at 8:55 p.m. so they can always get the 9 p.m. bump, then push for another big match at 10 p.m. and the show ending segment at 11 p.m. Before the show was to push a segment starting just before 9 p.m. as the No. 2 segment of the show, and the main event segment at around 11 p.m., since those are the two time periods they’ve conditioned casual fans who don’t want to watch the whole show to peak back in at.

What Happened When RAW Went Off The Air?

After WWE RAW went off the air, John Cena faced David Otunga, Big Show and John Laurinaitis in a handicap dark match main event.

Big Show accidentally hit the Knockout Punch on Otunga, which lead to Cena picking up the victory.

After the match, Cena hit the AA onto Laurinaitis to end the show.

Vince To Return To RAW!

WWE announced via their text message service today that Vince McMahon would be returning to Monday Night Raw next week on 6/11 during a special three-hour episode. The text message noted that McMahon would be evaluating John Laurinaitis’ job performance.

WWE Wants Former Talent On 1,000th RAW!

Former WWE and WCW superstar Sid Vicious noted on Twitter over the weekend that he’s received a “big offer” to make an upcoming appearance. WWE has reached out to 20 to 30 former talents about making appearances at the 7/23 Monday Night Raw taping in St. Louis that will be the 1,000th episode of the show. This could’ve been what he was referring to.
